About Us

With over 7 years of debate experience and 3 years of teaching experience, our instructor and founder Jin Zhou, has a plethora of debate knowledge to draw from.

He won the Junior Canadian National British Parliamentary Championships at the youngest possible age of Grade 8. From there, he competed at an international level, being the Grand Champion of 8 debate tournaments, Grand Finalling at 12 more tournaments and ending with the Top 10 Speaker Distinction at 16 other tournaments.

In Grade 10, he joined the Canadian National Debate Team and has since won several tournaments internationally on behalf of Canada against national teams from USA, China, Hungary, Germany, Korea and Singapore.

He now helps students around the world learn to debate and undergo a similar experience he once went through.

Group Classes for British Parliamentary Debate

Group British Parliamentary Class (Max 8 Students)

1 On 1 Private Classes

$60 per 1 hour class

Personalized 1-on-1 Coaching with Jin
Work directly with an international-level debater for focused, individualized instruction. When Jin was debating competitively, individualized private lessons were the singular biggest help to improving quickly and beating out other debaters.

Course Curriculum

The Fundamentals of Debating

These classes generally aim to teach students the foundations of debating, including creating strong arguments and refuting well. Private lessons are very tailored and personalized. Each lesson is taught based on the student’s strengths and weaknesses.

Each class includes a detailed seminar and several drills for students and a debate against the instructor to practice.

Class One – Building Arguments in Debates (PAEL Format & More) & Overall BP Speech Structures

Class Two – Rebuttal and Rebuilding: How to Respond Effectively to Opponents

Class Three – Framing and Modelling/Definitions: Setting up a Debate Successfully

Class Four – Characterization and Illustrations: Winning Debates with Examples

Advanced Strategies and Content Areas

In these classes, students will learn to use advanced strategies in debating and also start learning specific content areas that are common in debate topics.


Class One – Mastering Prep Time: How to Prepare for Impromptu Rounds

Class Two – Winning on Backhalf: Extensions and Expanding the Debate

Class Three – Note-Taking and Flowing Strategies: How to keep track of debate rounds

Class Four – [Content Day] Philosophy and Principles in Debating

Class Five – Style and Speaking: How to Speak about Arguments in Speeches to Persuade Judges

Global Issues and Real World Applications

These lessons are based on real-world events and learning how to debate them well. These are seminar heavy lessons where students will be taught about a specific world issue and then practice debating it.


Class One – Social Justice Rounds in Debate: Feminism, Civil Rights Movement, BLM & More

Class Two – Debating International Relations and Foreign Policy

Class Three – Economics in Debate: Poverty Cycle, Monetary Policy, Bail-outs

Class Four – Politics, Democracy and the Justice System

Class Five – Interesting Hypotheticals: Debating Strange and Creative Out-round topics
